Terms of service

Effective 2026-09-20

What Lookover does, what you’re paying for, and the choices you keep.

Terms of servicePrivacy policyText message termsHealth data privacy

These terms govern Lookover, operated by Webspin, LLC (“we,” “us”). Our privacy policy describes data handling, and our text message terms apply to texting. Visiting this website alone does not start a subscription or accept these terms.

How you accept these terms

You accept these terms by doing one of the following. Each is recorded, with the date and the version of the terms in force, before Lookover reads anything of yours.

  • Starting a household on the website or in the app and ticking the box that says you agree.
  • Paying for a subscription, where the checkout asks you to agree before you pay.
  • Accepting an invitation to a household and ticking the box that says you agree.
  • Confirming that you want weekly summaries and alerts from someone’s household, where the confirmation page says that confirming accepts these terms.
  • Sending your first document or question on the website or in the app, where the permission box says that you accept these terms.
  • Replying YES to Lookover’s text or email asking for your permission, which the message says also accepts these terms.

If you do not agree, do none of these, and nothing of yours is read. Someone who sets up Lookover for a family member does not accept these terms on that person’s behalf; the family member accepts them in their own way above.

What the service does

Lookover explains documents, photos, letters, bills, emails, texts and screenshots you choose to send. Software generates the explanations. The service can keep a record, identify dates for reminders, answer follow-up questions, flag warning signs and send summaries to the people authorized on your account. Routine material may be summarized as a count instead of receiving a detailed explanation.

Lookover does not pay bills, transfer money, contact the sender, file documents, change services or take action on the matters you submit. Subscription billing, account administration and messages from Lookover are separate from acting on your documents.

Message translations are generated by a computer. They can contain errors and are not certified translations. Check important details against the original. If translation is unavailable, we may send the original English message with a notice in your selected language. Language settings apply to new messages; account pages and saved reading history are currently in English.

Understand the limits

  • Check important details. Explanations can be incomplete or wrong. Lookover cannot verify a sender’s identity, prove a message is genuine, determine that a charge is fair, or guarantee that a deadline was found. Confirm important information through an independent contact you trust.
  • Keep your originals. Lookover is not your permanent document archive or an official record. Keep the documents you may need, and track important deadlines yourself.
  • Use qualified help when needed. Explanations are not medical, legal, tax, financial or other professional advice. No professional or fiduciary relationship is created. Do not use Lookover for emergencies, diagnosis, treatment decisions or matters requiring an immediate response. Contact emergency services when appropriate.
  • Delivery is not guaranteed. Processing, reminders and replies may be delayed, unavailable, filtered or undelivered. A reminder is not confirmation that you received it or that the matter was handled.

Your account and family sharing

You must be at least 18 and able to enter an agreement to open an account. Use accurate contact details you control and protect your email, phone and sign-in links. Tell us if a number changes or you suspect unauthorized access. The texting program supports eligible US numbers.

Each household subscription includes up to three people, counting the person managing it. Verified addresses belonging to the same person share one place. Sending documents, reading shared explanations and receiving summaries are separate choices within that membership. Pending invitations count toward the limit. Only submit information you have the right to share. Before adding another adult, obtain their permission to send an invitation; being a relative does not authorize you to consent for them. They must complete Lookover’s own confirmation. Contact us before attempting to use the service for someone who cannot personally consent; we do not automatically accept a claimed power of attorney.

Collection and explanation are separate from optional family sharing. A sender chooses each named person in People & sharing in their Lookover account. This covers earlier and new documents, explanations and extracted details, including health or financial information. Summary recipients must also accept their invitation. Use those same controls to stop sharing with one person or everyone. The account holder always has access to their own records. Removing a sender stops new submissions and withdraws their sharing permissions; removing a summary recipient stops future summaries and alerts to them. Neither action deletes records or recalls copies already delivered. Contact us about deletion. The person who purchased the subscription remains responsible for its charges, even if household management is transferred.

One sign-in can belong to several households. Joining an existing household does not require a separate subscription. Each subscribed household has its own plan; eligible new users can first try a free starter household. Managing a household does not grant access to another person’s private documents.

Three free documents

Each verified person may start one household with three free document explanations, shared across its members, devices and sending channels. No payment method is required, and using this allowance never starts a subscription. Completed explanations count once; failed processing and retries do not use additional documents. Follow-up questions are included, subject to usage limits and original-document retention. Your saved explanations remain accessible after the allowance is used, subject to your deletion choices and our retention policy. Multiple accounts must not be used to evade limits.

Price and automatic renewal

The standard subscription is $12 per month or $99 per year, plus applicable tax. It renews automatically at the selected interval until canceled. Any different promotional terms must be shown before you agree to them.

For website purchases, the trial lasts 7 days and requires a payment method. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your payment method is charged for the selected plan and then at each renewal. Checkout shows the applicable price and billing terms. You authorize these recurring charges when you complete signup. Stripe processes payments; your bank may show a temporary payment-method verification authorization.

We send billing information by email. We will give notice of price changes before they apply and provide renewal or change notices required by law. A price change does not increase a period you already paid for. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.

For an App Store or Google Play purchase, the store checkout shows the price, renewal interval and any trial you are eligible for. Those terms may differ from the website. The store processes payment and manages renewals; Lookover verifies the purchase to connect it to your household. Joining someone else’s household does not require another purchase. Use the same Lookover sign-in across the website and app.

How to cancel

  • From your account: open Plan, then Manage payment or cancel. A cancellation scheduled for the end of a paid period keeps access until the effective end date shown there. Cancel during the trial before its end to avoid the first charge.
  • Texting and billing are separate: STOP stops texts to that number. It does not cancel a subscription, change the plan, stop email service or delete account data. To cancel recurring charges, use the subscription settings for the provider shown on your Plan page.
  • By closing a household: the Close this household option ends that household’s service immediately and starts its content-deletion process. Your sign-in and other households stay available. If Apple or Google manages the subscription, cancel it in the store first; deleting app data or your sign-in does not cancel store charges.
  • By email: request cancellation at support@lookoverit.com. We may verify that you control the account. Contact us if you cannot access the account or do not receive confirmation.

Canceling future renewals does not automatically refund a charge already made. Immediately closing a household does not create a prorated credit for unused days, except under the refund policy below or applicable law. Replying START does not restart a canceled paid subscription or authorize a new charge.

Refunds

If you change your mind after your first subscription charge, email support@lookoverit.com within 14 days of that charge to request a full refund of that first charge. This policy does not apply automatically to later renewal charges. Refunds or other remedies required by law remain available. Tell us promptly about a billing error or an unauthorized charge; these terms do not limit your right to dispute it with your payment provider. For store purchases, use the store’s refund request process; contact us if you need help identifying the purchase.

Your content

You retain any rights you have in submitted content. You authorize us and our service providers to process, store and transmit it as needed to provide the requested service, protect the service and meet legal obligations, as described in the privacy policy. This permission includes generating explanations and sharing them with the people authorized on your account. It does not grant ownership of your documents or permission to sell them for advertising.

We do not use your documents to train general-purpose models without a separate opt-in. Corrections and stored context can be used to improve explanations for your account. Provider processing, retention and authorized staff access are described in the privacy policy. Automated explanations do not mean human access is impossible.

After service ends, account-content deletion is scheduled after 30 days. Original-document retention may expire sooner. Backups, required business records and other retention exceptions are explained in the privacy policy. Download anything you need before ending access.

Acceptable use and service changes

Do not use Lookover for unlawful activity, harassment, impersonation, unauthorized surveillance, collecting other people’s data without permission, attacks on the service or evading access controls. Do not send passwords, verification codes, complete payment-card details or other secrets that are unnecessary for an explanation. Cover unnecessary identifiers before photographing a document.

We may apply processing limits or suspend access where reasonably needed to prevent abuse, address security concerns, comply with law or handle nonpayment. If we end a paid service for our convenience, we will refund unused prepaid service. We may change features, but will notify you of a material reduction affecting a paid subscription and explain your cancellation options.

Responsibility and consumer rights

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or noninfringement. We do not promise uninterrupted service or correct results in every case.

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible to the other for indirect or consequential losses arising from the service. Our aggregate liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not exclude liability for our fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or anything the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Nothing here waives mandatory consumer rights, statutory remedies or rights concerning personal information.

Changes, disputes and contact

We will post the effective date of updates and notify account holders before material changes take effect. We will obtain a new agreement where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove rights concerning an existing dispute. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions still apply.

Texas law governs except where the mandatory law of your residence provides otherwise. These terms do not require arbitration or waive class proceedings, small-claims rights or access to a regulator. Please contact us first if something is wrong so we can try to resolve it; doing so is not a condition of exercising your legal rights.

If Lookover is transferred to a successor, applicable privacy commitments continue and any notices or consents required by law still apply. A business transfer is not permission to transfer text-message consent for unrelated marketing.
